Problem

The old version of the site was impossible to navigate and needed an updated design. The clinic includes many services and other additional information that should be present on the website (e.g., blog, forms, rewards, online pharmacy, etc.). The main challenge was making the website intuitive and straightforward for users to navigate and accommodate all the necessary information without departing from the clinic's visual identity.

Solution

I gathered all the necessary information and structured it to divide it into categories and sections, which I further used in navigation and division of the site into separate pages. I used the Untitled UI design system to maximize the speed and simplify the work process.

The primary and best decision was to make a single-page design that contained all possible types of information so that content managers could assemble it like Lego (:

Research

While creating a document with all the necessary information for the site, I realized I would need a ready-made design system, as the site includes many components of different purposes and uses (article cards, input fields, sections with a list of services, etc.).

I also looked at the leading competitors and significant vet clinics in the US market and collected all the best practices they use on their sites.

Here are some design decisions that helped create the correct value propositions and improve the user experience.

  1. Header Design

  1. Header Design

Since the header must contain a lot of information, it was necessary to make a specific structure for it, which should be well perceived and only take up a little space on the screen.

  1. Services

In my work, I apply all possible approaches to the task. I combine business requirements with user convenience.

So we also decided that it is necessary to add a section with services to the main page to better convey to users and clients the understanding of how comprehensive the clinic's list of services is and to show it visually using the color palette.

  1. Blog

The Blog is divided into several sections: featured and all posts. The ability to filter posts helps users to view posts by category they are interested in.

The analytics results showed that the blog page helped increase the average time a user spent on the site.

The most incredible part about this project was seeing how the clients and clinic staff admired the site

When we got the finished result and implemented it, we received a lot of positive feedback from users and clients of the clinic, increased traffic, and time spent on the site by users. And in general, the most pleasant thing in work is to see that the product works (:
